Al Mayadeen correspondent showed the aftermath of an IDF strike on a bridge in Iran

As a result of a US and Israeli strike on a bridge under construction in Iran, eight people were killed and about 100 others were injured. Footage of the aftermath of the April 4 attack was provided to Izvestia by Ahmad Bahrani, a correspondent for Al Mayadeen TV channel.

"This project was called an engineering masterpiece — it was about to start working," he said.

Rahmani, the general director of the construction company, noted that the bridge was intended exclusively for civilian use. The facility was supposed to connect Tehran with the city of Karaj and become one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region. However, the construction was actually stopped after two missile strikes. It is noted that the second rocket was fired at a time when rescue services were already working at the site.

The representative of the construction company added that the work had been underway for about two years and could be completed in the coming months, but due to military operations, the project was disrupted. According to him, despite the situation, construction continued until the last moment.

As Al Mayadeen points out, the strike on the bridge was one of the examples of damage to civilian infrastructure amid the ongoing military operation.
