Turkey has appealed to everyone to refrain from attacking civilian ships in the Black Sea. This was announced on April 3 by the Office of the President of the Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following his telephone conversations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"Turkey has called on all parties to refrain from actions that could lead to an escalation of tension...> [and] attacks on civilian vessels in the Black Sea," reads a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

It also notes that Ankara is working with a number of foreign actors to resolve the escalation in the Middle East. In addition, she is also making efforts to continue the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. In this process, as emphasized in the text, new conflict centers should not be created.

A statement on the talks between Putin and Erdogan, which was also published on the Kremlin's website on the same day, clarified that the leaders stressed the importance of coordinated security measures in the Black Sea. In this water area, the Kiev regime continues to attempt to strike at the gas transportation infrastructure.

On April 2, the Russian multinational energy company Gazprom announced that the Russian Defense Ministry and mobile task forces had repelled another attack by three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the Russkaya station of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline. Putin, in turn, said on February 24 that Russia had information about possible attempts to undermine the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream pipelines.
