Sheep farmers of Transbaikalia increased the number of lambs by 12%

Sheep farmers in Transbaikalia have already received 10.3 thousand lambs as part of the 2026 breeding campaign. This is 12% more than a year earlier, when 9.2 thousand heads were born on the same date.

According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the offspring is being harvested in nine districts. To date, 10.2 thousand sheep have embraced.

The best rates for offspring are shown by the Aginsky, Mogotuisky, Borzinsky and Uletovsky districts, where the output of lambs is 100% or more.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, in total, 92 thousand sheep were prepared by animal breeders for the breeding campaign. The events will end in early June.

Earlier it was reported that at the end of March, breeding began on a gene pool farm in Transbaikalia. This is the name of the period when horses have foals.
