Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yulia Gorbunova was appointed the new rector of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. This was announced on April 3 by the Skoltech press service in the Telegram channel.

Prior to her appointment to this position, Gorbunova headed the Faculty of Fundamental Physico-Chemical Engineering at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Gorbunova noted that among the main tasks remain the development of priority technological areas, cooperation with institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and leading universities to address issues of importance to the country, as well as the creation of joint laboratories with foreign partner universities.
