- Kim Jong-un and his daughter looked at kittens and puppies in a pet store in Pyongyang
Chairman of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un, accompanied by his 13-year-old daughter Kim Ju-ae, visited one of the pet stores in Pyongyang, where he got acquainted with the kittens, puppies and other animals presented there. This was reported on April 3 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"Comrade Kim Jong-un visited the Hwasong Pet Store (Hwasong is one of the 15 districts of Pyongyang. — Ed.). On the first and second floors of the store, he looked at pets of different species," the text says.
The leader of the DPRK, having inspected the pavilion ready for opening, noted that in recent years, an increase in the number of families with pets has been recorded in Pyongyang and its district. It is emphasized that in the new store, North Korean citizens will be able to purchase everything they need for their animals, as well as enroll them in certain, including veterinary, services.
The photos attached to the material show Kim Jong-un holding a puppy in his arms, and also pointing his fingers at one of the kittens contained in the enclosure. Kim Joo Ae is pictured standing at the cat play complex.
The Yonhap news agency, citing the words of South Korean MP Lee Song Gwon, on February 12 named Kim Ju Ae as the successor of the current chairman of the DPRK. It was noted that the teenager began to appear more often in official events, as well as to express his opinion on a number of political issues. At the same time, the girl, as added in the text, is still in the "selection stage", which is being conducted by Kim Jong-un.
