Causes of the accident

The accident occurred on April 3 in the Petrovsky district of the Saratov region near the village of Novozakharkino. A Hyundai bus carrying children was traveling from the city of Yershov to Penza on an excursion. According to preliminary data, the driver of the vehicle became ill at the wheel, which led to the overturning of the car.

According to the source, there were 28 people in the cabin, including 23 children. Emergency services from Petrovsk and Saratov, as well as specialists from the Disaster medicine center, promptly arrived at the scene of the incident. The Petrovsky interdistrict prosecutor Ilyas Yakupov began checking on the incident.

The condition of the victims

There were no fatalities among the passengers as a result of the accident, but 10 people were injured. The injured were taken to the central district hospital of Petrovsk. Roman Busargin, the governor of the region, said that five injured people, including three children and two adults, were transported to the regional center.

"Five people who were in a bus that was involved in an accident in the Petrovsky district were taken to Saratov by the air ambulance service," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The head of the region also clarified that one of the injured girls needed surgery. The rest of the children will be sent to temporary accommodation facilities after all necessary medical examinations. Vladimir Dudakov, the Minister of Health of the region, took personal control of the treatment process.

The criminal case

After the accident, investigators opened a criminal case under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers").
