Georgy Dolmazyan will present the premiere performance at the BRIDGE Theater
On May 13 and 14, at 19:00, the Main Stage of the BRIDGE Theater will host the premiere screenings of the play "The Ship Returns Home" (16+), a stage fantasy in the spirit of the 1930s cabaret inspired by the work of Erich Maria Remarque. The production was performed by Georgy Dolmazyan, the author of the plays "The Days of the Turbins" and "Dostoevskaya. Anna's Dreams" and "Memorial Prayer".
The phantom ship, dissecting dreams and reality, will dissolve into the mist of images of the legendary novelist, offering the viewer to set off on a journey where you can cross the ocean of Time only by meeting yourself on the pier.
The atmosphere of the "Three Comrades" and the topics that worried people a century ago have become the basis for the study of modern society. Historical scenery — Germany in the 1920s and 30s — was chosen as a space for a frank conversation about the present. The real events of those years allow us to see the present day through the thickness of time.
The play "The Ship returns Home" is addressed to the characters, whom the director calls "Renaissance People." The main postulate for them is the idea that life can be started anew at any moment.
Georgy Dolmazyan needed a special scale to implement his ideas on stage: abandoning chamber psychology, he chose the form of an epic revue, where there was a place for venerable honored artists, the middle generation, and the youngest actors. This performance fully reflects the director's love for musical theater, especially the genre of cabaret. The musical structure of the stage performance is built with precision — here the word, rhythm, beat, movement and gesture work in an inseparable unity.
"Life can be started anew at any moment. Even when the ship of your destiny has already disappeared into the fog, the main thing is to take a step towards yourself," says director Georgy Dolmazyan.
"The ship is coming home" is for those who can feel the vibrations coming from the stage. Who knows how to love and empathize. And he doesn't know how to live without a theater.
