AvtoVAZ will carry out a large-scale modernization of production in May

In May 2026, AvtoVAZ will carry out a large—scale modernization of production lines and technological equipment related to the preparation for the release of a new model, the Lada Azimut crossover. The press service of the domestic automobile company told Izvestia about this on April 3.

An additional amount of work is also planned on the second production line — SUVs of the Niva family.

As before, the days of a single corporate vacation are used to carry out modernization work. This year, it was originally scheduled for May 4-8, July 27 — August 16, and December 29-30. However, in order to successfully complete all the preparations for Azimut production planned for May, as well as in agreement with the trade union committee, it was decided to postpone two days of the December vacation to May 12-13, the company noted.

"The additional and fully paid vacation days in the warm spring month were positively received by the team. Large—scale modernization of lines and equipment, scheduled for May 2026, will ensure the launch of LADA Azimut production on schedule — the third quarter of 2026," AvtoVAZ said.
