In Germany, 12 people were injured due to an explosion in a train car
In the evening, in the city of Siegburg in Germany, 12 people were injured in an explosion in a carriage caused by a train passenger. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on April 2.
"There was an explosion in car 23, after which smoke appeared. <...> The object turned out to be an airsoft grenade, which was thrown out of the train toilet into the aisle. As a result of the scattering of plastic balls, according to preliminary investigation data, 12 people received minor injuries," the publication says.
It is noted that the suspect, a 20-year-old citizen of the country, was detained by locking him in a toilet stall.
500 people were evacuated as a result of the explosion. Train traffic in the area of the incident was blocked, and a bus to Frankfurt was organized for passengers.
Subsequently, all restrictive measures were lifted.
