The repair of the key Trans-Baikal highway will continue in 2026
In 2026, the Mogoitui– Sretensk–Olochi highway, which is the longest road of regional importance, will continue to be repaired in the Trans-Baikal Territory. This is reported by the press service of the regional highway administration.
This year, work is planned to be completed on two sections of the highway with a total length of over 20 km. They are located on the territory of the Sretensky district, near the villages of Nizhnyaya Kuenga and Verkhnyaya Kuenga.
In the spring, it is planned to start repairing two more sites with a transitional type of coating in the Shelopuginsky district. Two sections with a total length of 59 km in the Nerchinsk-Zavodsky district will also be put in order within three years.
According to Alexey Radkov, head of the highway Department, the Mogoitui – Sretensk –Olochi highway is part of the backbone network of Russian highways, providing communication between remote areas of Transbaikalia and the A-350 federal highway, writes ChitaMedia news agency.
The work will be carried out within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". In total, more than 250 km of roads of regional importance are planned to be put in order according to the national project in 2026.
