In the Moscow region, preparations for the start of the rental season of personal mobility equipment (SIM) will be completed by the first decade of April. This was announced by the press service of the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure on Thursday, April 2.

"For the launch, it is necessary to prepare a street and road network for the comfort and safety of SIM users - which is what they are doing now. Service operators check and ensure the technical readiness of the SIM park," the Moscow City News Agency quotes the message.

The press service noted that the administrations of city and municipal districts are completing the formation of coordinates for the placement of parking zones, no-traffic zones, and speed limit zones.

After the preparation is completed, the start of the SIM rental season will be announced.

Earlier that day, the Kotelniki City District Traffic Safety Commission decided to completely ban the operation of SIM in the district, NSN reports.

The head of the city district, Mikhail Sobolev, noted that the municipality's street and road network is not adapted for SIM travel, and the staff of the operators serving them cannot cope with the work assigned to them, RT reports.

In addition, these vehicles, according to his information, are used by minors who do not have the appropriate permission from adults. Some citizens continue to travel on the same SIM together. These factors, as explained in the text, pose a threat to the life and health of both users and others.

"The Traffic Safety Commission of the Kotelniki city district may consider the possibility of resuming work only if the operator submits a specific proposal that takes into account all comments and ensures safety," Sobolev summed up in the text.

On the same day, the head of Lyuberets, Vladimir Volkov, announced restrictions on the operation of electric scooter rental companies in this city district, Moscow 24 writes. This decision also applies to Dzerzhinsky, Tomilino, Kraskovo, Malakhovka, Oktyabrsky, Ostrovtsy and Mirny.
