Belarus reports on NATO's ongoing targeted preparations for war

NATO continues its targeted preparations for war. The countries of the North Atlantic Alliance bordering Belarus have increased their military spending four to five times. This was announced on April 2 by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Viktor Khrenin.

"The North Atlantic Alliance continues to purposefully prepare for war <...> The NATO member states adjacent to the Republic of Belarus have increased their military spending four to five times over the past 10 years and do not plan to stop there," the department's Telegram channel quoted him as saying.

He also pointed to the growing tension in the world and the negative dynamics of the global military and political situation. The minister added that the actions of the Belarusian side to de-escalate the situation do not find a response from international partners, which confirms the West's bet on the realization of its interests by military means.

"In these circumstances, the key issue remains the development of adequate steps aimed at increasing the strategic stability of the Commonwealth of Independent States and their ability to withstand emerging threats," Khrenin stressed.

To mark the 30th anniversary of integration, Russia and Belarus are launching new trains between the regions and introducing a single quality mark.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the republic does not want war, but it is preparing for it. According to the president, there can be no peacetime now and the country is preparing for a possible conflict. Lukashenko also stressed that the Belarusian military is absolutely against war, because they know what it is.

On March 19, the troops of the Western Operational Command (WOC) of Belarus began conducting exercises under the leadership of the country's chief of the General Staff, Major General Pavel Muraveyko. It was noted that the exercises are conducted to test combat readiness, and are also purely defensive in nature. The training is aimed at observing national interests to protect the sovereignty of the state.
