The deputy Governor of the Belgorod region was charged with bribery and embezzlement.

The Deputy Governor of the Belgorod region, Rustem Zainullin, who is already accused of especially large-scale fraud, was additionally charged with accepting a bribe and especially large embezzlement. This was reported by TASS on April 2, citing a source.

"Zainullin has been charged under Part 4 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe") and Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Embezzlement on a particularly large scale")," the agency's interlocutor said.

According to the source, the new charges are also related to the scheme of embezzlement of money that was allocated for the construction of defensive structures in the border areas.
