The Atlantic reported on four possible US actions in Iran and possible risks.
The Washington administration is considering at least four options for dealing with Iran, but none of them promises an easy solution for the United States. This was reported on April 1 by the American magazine The Atlantic.
It is noted that the main risks are related to the fact that Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz, which gives the country a significant influence on world oil prices.
"It is risky to expect Iran to agree to end the war in a short time, as its position is relatively strong, given its control over the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on global oil prices," the publication says.
It clarifies that all options for action are associated with the risk of a sharp rise in oil prices and the threat of a global recession with a possible escalation of the conflict and a protracted war, repeated attacks on allies, depletion of American military resources, as well as growing popular discontent and the complication of diplomatic relations in the region.
The Politico newspaper reported on April 1 that US President Donald Trump may announce the end of the military operation against Iran. The decision is linked to rising oil prices and unfavorable public opinion polls.
