The expert spoke about the rules of using the maternity capital for housing

Maternity capital is not intended for housing repairs and can only be used for reconstruction involving the expansion of living space. This was announced on April 2 by Sergey Zaikov, an expert at the Presidential Academy, Associate Professor of Economics and Finance at the Altai branch.

"Maternity capital cannot be used to repair houses or cottages, as the legislation considers repairs and reconstruction as different types of work. The funds of the parent capital are allowed to be used only for the reconstruction of an apartment building, that is, for work that leads to an increase in living space," Zaikov told TASS.
