LDPR deputies want to introduce a discount when paying for electricity for Russians who are faced with unplanned outages. Leonid Slutsky, the party's leader, addressed this proposal in a letter to Sergey Tsivilev, the head of the Ministry of Energy, on April 2 (Izvestia has the text of the letter).

"Residents of the country are massively complaining about power outages. Unscrupulous service providers leave residents without electricity, and it is simply impossible to achieve compensation or compensation — formally, outages may fall within acceptable limits. Therefore, the Liberal Democratic Party proposes to give people the right to receive a discount when paying for electricity if the total electricity was absent for more than 10 hours during the month," Slutsky told Izvestia.

According to him, unplanned blackouts are especially common in small towns, where electricity plays a significant role in the lives of citizens. The introduction of such a standard will increase the responsibility of energy supply and grid organizations for the actual quality of services, the letter to the Ministry of Energy summarizes.

On February 14, State Duma deputies from the LDPR faction, led by Leonid Slutsky, proposed increasing fines for officials for violating the rules of maintenance and repair of residential buildings. In case of repeated violations, it is proposed to remove them from office for a period of six months to one year. The bill has been sent to the Government of the Russian Federation for consideration.
