The Central Bank of Russia has not recorded stagnation in payments by QR codes. This was announced on April 1 by Alla Bakina, head of the Department of the national payment system of the regulator.

Prior to that, at the same forum, Dmitry Malykh, head of Sberbank's Transactional Banking unit, stated that there was no increase in the number of QR code payments, and the service was not adding new users. According to Maly, this tool now has every chance of losing relevance and leaving the market.

"We don't see this," RIA Novosti quoted Bakina as saying.

Dmitry Tulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, announced on January 25 that Russian banks should switch to a single QR code for all transfers from September 1. It is specified that the federal law on the universal payment code was adopted to promote competition, increase convenience for citizens and businesses, as well as to ensure the equidistance of infrastructure.
