ATED asked the government to review the law on the support of the Russian Post
The Association of Cross-Border Electronic Commerce and Express Delivery (ATED) appealed to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin with a request to prevent the adoption of the draft law of the Ministry of Finance on the support of the Russian Post. This was reported by Forbes magazine on April 1.
The letter notes that the main consequence of the initiative will be the restriction of access to delivery for logistics companies. According to the ATED, as a result, competition will decrease, tariffs will increase, and the quality of service will deteriorate due to congestion.
The ATED is particularly concerned about the provision granting the government the right to impose additional requirements on contractors of the holder of a postal license and the terms of contracts. The criteria for introducing such requirements are not disclosed in the draft law. In this regard, the business may face excessive or even restrictive conditions, the appeals say.
