Smallpox of monkeys was confirmed in one of two patients of Domodedovo hospital

One of the two people hospitalized at Domodedovo Hospital in the Moscow region was diagnosed with monkeypox. This was announced on April 1 by Maxim Zabelin, Deputy Chairman of the Government and Minister of Health of the Moscow Region.

"According to the results of laboratory tests, monkey pox was confirmed in only one patient admitted to the infectious diseases hospital of Domodedovo Hospital. The second one, who contacted him, has a negative analysis," he wrote in the MAX.

According to Zabelin, currently the condition of both patients is satisfactory, they are also receiving full medical care. In addition, this situation is under the control of the regional Ministry of Health and Rospotrebnadzor in the Moscow region.

On March 31, the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Moscow Region reported that a patient had been admitted to a hospital in the Moscow region who was suspected of contracting smallpox from monkeys, as well as a person who had been in contact with him. The department also announced the continuation of the epidemiological investigation.
