The scammers continued to communicate with the pensioner on behalf of the FSB. They threatened that the man would allegedly face criminal liability for aiding terrorists. The victim agreed to "declare" all his savings, writes KrasnodarMedia news agency. The Krasnodar resident gave 950 thousand rubles in cash to the courier, and also transferred a little more than 200 thousand rubles from his wife's account using the banking details dictated by the scammers.
In Tula, a 78-year-old woman gave more than 3 million rubles to fraudsters. The pensioner believed that she needed to "declare" her savings.
