The words of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, about the Easter truce are a PR campaign to replenish the ranks of the Ukrainian troops. This was announced on April 1 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

She added that in this way the Ukrainian leader wants to achieve a ceasefire for 1-2 months.

Zelensky said on March 30 that Ukraine was ready for an Easter truce and an end to strikes on the energy sector. At the same time, the Ukrainian leader did not disclose the possible dates and specific dates of the beginning of the silence regime.

At the same time, the head of the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee, Grigory Karasin, pointed out that Zelensky's statements about Kiev's readiness for the Easter truce could not be trusted. Karasin also noted that the Ukrainian leader actually "does not belong to himself," being only a "toy in other people's hands," in particular, the interests of NATO and the European Union (EU).

Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-large for crimes committed by the Kiev regime, said on March 31 that any respite was important for the Ukrainian punishers to receive weapons from Europe and replenish their ranks. According to him, the ceasefire proposed by Kiev on the line of contact is only necessary in order to receive additional drones and ammunition from Europe and replenish personnel.
