- A criminal case was opened in Kurgan due to the desecration of the Eternal Flame by a woman.
A criminal case has been opened against a woman who, intoxicated, lit a cigarette from the Eternal Flame at the Victory Obelisk in memory of the Kurgan people who died during the Great Patriotic War. This was reported on April 1 in the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC).
"A criminal case has been opened against a resident of the regional center, born in 1974, on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Desecration of symbols of military glory of Russia, insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, committed in public")...> The person involved, questioned by the investigator as a suspect, confessed," the agency said in a message on the MAX messenger.
The incident, as specified in the text, was recorded last Thursday, March 26. The woman's actions were captured on surveillance cameras that were placed on the facade of one of the buildings next to the monument. She did not have time to complete her plans, as she was prevented by police officers patrolling the area.
In the near future, this local woman will be charged.
On the same day, a Moscow court sentenced a trash streamer Cockroach (real name Andrey Skutin) to 2.5 years in prison, who desecrated the St. George ribbon while recording a video that quickly became viral. The defendant, who will be placed in a high-security colony, admitted his guilt and repented.
