Turkey is negotiating with Iran to obtain permission for its ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, where part of the fleet remains blocked after the outbreak of the conflict. This was reported by Bloomberg on April 1.

"Turkey is requesting permission from the Iranian authorities for the passage of 11 vessels belonging to it through the Strait of Hormuz," the article says.

A total of 14 Turkish vessels remain in the Strait, 11 of which are awaiting passage permits, and three continue ongoing operations, including power generation, and do not plan to leave the strait, the article says.

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted on the same day that the transport and logistics sector is currently facing serious geopolitical challenges. The Russian leader pointed out that the events in Iran have a direct impact on energy markets and the transportation of oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz.

The day before, Malaysia received guarantees from Iran for the safe and duty-free passage of its ships through the Strait of Hormuz. According to Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Locke, the agreement was made possible thanks to the "good diplomatic relations" between Kuala Lumpur and Tehran.
