The head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, is only harming herself by announcing the transfer of an 80 million euro aid package to Kiev at the expense of profits from frozen Russian assets. This was announced on April 1 by Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations.

"Most likely, she (Callas. — Ed.) tightens the noose around his neck. Everyone is already laughing at these new packages of sanctions. €80 million is our stolen money," the MP said in an interview with Lenta.ru .

He added that the Russian government has the opportunity to respond to this attack from Brussels. According to the deputy, the Russian Federation could freeze not monetary, but production assets of European companies.

On March 31, Kallas announced that the European Union (EU) had transferred €80 million to Ukraine from proceeds from frozen assets of Russia. She added that in addition, the EU will increase sanctions pressure on Russia.

On April 1, the EU offered Ukraine additional financial assistance. For this, a list of 11 draft laws was sent to Kiev, which Kiev must adopt if it wants to receive assistance from Western countries in the amount of €4 billion. It was also noted that if the draft laws are adopted, this will be regarded as a sign of Ukraine's readiness to move further towards EU membership.
