REN TV will show a new documentary film "TSIOLKOVSKY" from the cycle of the NMG DOK "THE GREAT ONES"

The new scientific detective story "TSIOLKOVSKY" from the cycle "The GREAT ONES" from NMG DOC reveals the secrets of the great Russian scientist Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky. A self-taught village boy without a degree, he looked forward centuries, opened the way to other worlds for mankind and described in detail the distant future. Before the advent of airplanes, he had already predicted space travel: he convinced the world that iron machines could take to the sky and even leave the Earth. He was not given a high school graduation certificate, but was included in school textbooks. It's all about him – Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, the father of Russian cosmism.

This man was ahead of his time: Tsiolkovsky not only invented a centrifuge, a metal airship, a gyroscopic autopilot and a wind tunnel, but also predicted the existence of exoplanets long before scientific discoveries. And it was he who proposed the idea of a space elevator and proposed the now classic scheme of a multi-stage rocket.

Presenter Mikhail Gorevoy and experts from the world of science talk about how Tsiolkovsky's ideas about space are embodied in modern technologies, and which of his developments have yet to be implemented.
