Tyumen region prepares for floods

In the Tyumen region, flooding will begin in the first or second decade of April. There is one large city and four counties in the area of possible flooding. The regional Department of Civil Protection and Fire Safety warned about this.

Some rivers in the region are currently frozen until the water level changes dramatically. Experts predict minor flooding in the territories of municipalities and settlements located in the floodplain of the Ishim River. These are the Kazan, Ishim, Abatsky, Vikulovsky districts, as well as the city of Ishim, writes <url> news agency with reference to the department.

However, experts do not expect severe flooding this year. The water levels in the reservoirs are still below the level they were last year.

The authorities of the Tyumen region have allocated 2.4 billion rubles for flood control. This is 1 billion more than in 2025. The water outlet mark on the floodplain has been exceeded on the Mergenka River.

Earlier, on March 31, it was reported that Kurgan sharply tightened water quality control in Tobol. Specialists will switch to an enhanced mode of operation from April 1. The river is the only source of the city's drinking water supply. The company's laboratory is open around the clock: samples are taken every hour, and microbiological control has been strengthened for river and tap water.
