The Russian Ambassador to Tehran announced the presence of Mojtab Khamenei in Iran.
The new Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, is currently in the territory of the Islamic Republic, but refrains from appearing at public events. This was announced on March 31 by Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexey Dedov.
"As the Iranian leadership has repeatedly stated, the new leader is in Iran, but for obvious reasons refrains from appearing in public," he said in an interview with RTVI TV channel.
Dedov also noted that at the moment he had no personal contacts with the new Supreme Leader of Iran. Nevertheless, the ambassador stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was among the first to send congratulations to Mojtaba Khamenei. In his message, the Russian leader expressed his unwavering support for Tehran and reaffirmed his solidarity with the Iranian side.
