The Russian government has allocated 2.83 billion rubles to provide monthly social benefits to military children in 2026. The relevant document has been published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"To allocate in 2026 <...> budget allocations <...> in the amount of 2.83 billion rubles for monthly social payments," the message says.

According to the document, budget allocations will be sent to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. These funds are provided in the budget for the "National Defense" section.

The funding will ensure the implementation of the decree of the President of Russia dated December 26, 2024, which establishes additional social support measures for children of certain categories of military personnel.

On February 6, Kaplan Panes, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, said that the State Duma had proposed increasing a number of social benefits for families with children, including allowances for pregnant wives of conscripts and child care payments. He also proposed to establish a new minimum amount of child care allowance for up to one and a half years for non-working parents at the level of 20 thousand rubles per month.
