The Crimean authorities are monitoring the flood situation in the republic. Almost 14 thousand specialists and more than 3 thousand pieces of equipment are ready to fight them.

As the Ministry of Emergency Situations told IA SevastopolMedia, automotive, special and engineering equipment, aviation, drones and swimming facilities are used for work.

Since the beginning of the year, employees of the rescue department have examined drainage systems, riverbeds, and storm drains in municipalities where there is a risk of flooding. It turned out that the riverbeds are clogged with household garbage, branches and dry vegetation, there are deposits of soil and stones.

In particular, the rivers of Leninsky, Bakhchisarai, Simferopol and Dakiysky districts, Sudak, Alushta, Yalta and Feodosia were inspected.

Earlier it was reported that on Saturday, March 28, powerful floods began in many districts and cities of the North Caucasus. In particular, the cyclone left devastating consequences in Dagestan — hundreds of people were left without electricity, lost their homes and property.
