Chekalina briefly left the clinic with the permission of doctors to celebrate the fourth birthday of her son Lev. After that, she returned under the supervision of oncologists. During her new hospitalization, she underwent the installation of a venous port in her neck: it is necessary for the injection of drugs into a large vein. The blogger herself called the procedure painful.

"I'm ready. On alert. Now they will install a port in the neck. I will be like a female transformer," said Chekalina.

Luis Squicciarini, the blogger's partner, said that Valeria had already undergone her first session and immune therapy, with a total of nine treatment stages planned. The disease has already caused serious complications. According to him, Chekalina has completely lost the sight in her right eye, and also has difficulty walking. However, after the course of radiation therapy, the pain in my leg subsided somewhat.

Difficulties with diagnosis

Chekalina places the responsibility for the late detection of the disease on law enforcement agencies. According to her, during the period of the investigative restrictions, she could only apply to state institutions at the place of detention — and was deprived of the opportunity to get to specialized specialists, which, in her opinion, led to the appearance of metastases. In Istra, where the blogger sought help, the medical infrastructure turned out to be extremely limited.

"All we found in Istra is a paramedic's office. But when I got there, there was just a table on the ground floor of this five-story building, and a paramedic was sitting behind it. They could measure the maximum temperature there. I didn't find any equipment that could help me there," she said.

Due to the lack of a normal diagnosis, Chekalina was forced to continue taking regular painkillers. Subsequently, she submitted an application demanding to check the actions of the employees of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Moscow TINAO. The document states that during the period of house arrest, she was systematically denied permission to visit doctors. The Main Directorate of the Moscow Ministry of Internal Affairs denied information about a complete ban on medical care: the department clarified that applications for visits to private clinics were rejected twice.

The blogger's former husband, Artyom Chekalin, spoke about the situation, admitting that the upcoming treatment would require significant expenses. He expressed hope for Valeria's recovery and noted that now she needs financial support, both for medical procedures and for the maintenance of children.

"May God grant her success and great victories. She needs money now for treatment and for her family, so God forbid that everything works out for her," said Chekalin.

He also mentioned the upcoming cosmetics brand of blogger Elvira Feopentova's mother, admitting that he was not aware of the sources of funding for the project. According to him, he hopes that the new business will help the family cope with the financial burden during a difficult period.​​
