- The NYT reported on the work of the United States with NATO and Greenland on a new deal
The US administration, together with NATO and Greenland, is working on a deal that is "amazing" for Washington. This was reported on March 30 by The New York Times (NYT).
The White House said it was working with Greenland and NATO on an agreement that would be "amazing for the United States," the publication said.
The comment followed a request about three Americans whom Danish television described as participants in "covert influence operations" on the island. We are talking about entrepreneur Drew Horn, former member of the Arctic Commission Thomas Dance and founder of the Bikers for Trump motorcycle club Chris Cox.
All three stated that they acted openly, promoting the interests of the United States, and their posts on social networks confirm this. At least two of them were under surveillance by Danish intelligence.
On March 4, US Deputy Secretary of War for Political Affairs Elbridge Colby announced that Washington was actively working to establish control in Greenland. According to the politician, a process is currently underway that is focused on resolving the issue.
On February 14, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen refused to name the cost of Greenland at the Munich Security Conference. The politician stressed that Denmark is a sovereign state, and the right of Greenlanders to self—determination must be respected. According to her, the people of Greenland have made it clear that they do not want to become Americans.
