The Turkish Defense Ministry announced the destruction of the Iranian missile
Air defense systems have neutralized a ballistic missile over Turkey, allegedly launched from Iran. This was announced on March 30 by the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
"A ballistic munition, allegedly launched from Iran and entering Turkish airspace, was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean," the ministry wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
It is noted that the Turkish side is closely monitoring all events in the region and is ready to immediately take all necessary measures to eliminate threats to the national security of the republic.
The Turkish Anadolu agency reported on March 13 that air raid sirens sounded at the US Incirlik airbase in Turkey after it was allegedly attacked by Iran using two ballistic missiles. The agency clarifies that earlier two ballistic missiles that were heading towards Turkey were intercepted by air defense systems.
On March 9, NATO air defense systems shot down a ballistic missile in Turkish airspace fired from Iranian territory. After neutralization, the rocket fragments landed in an uninhabited area near Gaziantep. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
