During the debate between the parties, the prosecutor requested a sentence of 19 years in a high-security penal colony for Alexey Dedov, the former deputy governor of the Kursk region. This was reported on March 30 in the joint press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region.

"To impose punishment: Alexey Dedov in the form of 19 years of imprisonment to be served in a high—security penal colony, with a fine of 500 million rubles," the Telegram channel says.

The Leninsky District Court of Kursk declared the judicial investigation over. The defendant asked for additional time to prepare for the debate.

On September 10 last year, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office sent to court a case on the embezzlement of 152 million rubles, which were intended for the construction of fortifications in the Kursk region. Later, she sent to court cases of bribery in the amount of more than 20 million rubles against the former governor of the Kursk region Alexei Smirnov and Dedov.

Smirnov and Dedov were taken into custody on February 6. It was reported that Smirnov had signed a cooperation agreement with the court, so his case would be considered in a special order. A similar agreement was concluded by Dedov, both of them are accused of receiving two bribes.
