Renting social media accounts and computer games have become one of the most common ways of recruiting young people in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) by the Ukrainian special services. Arina Klepanova, the official representative of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the region, told TASS on March 30.

According to the representative of the department, the enemy actively uses the desire of the younger generation for easy earnings. Teenagers are offered to rent out their accounts, which becomes the first step towards establishing a trusting contact and subsequent inducement to illegal actions.

She noted that the methods of searching for potential victims remain diverse. In particular, dating within gaming platforms has become widespread. Recruiters initiate communication under the pretext of a team game, after which they proceed to extract confidential information.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, Klepanova added that blackmail and attempts to gain trust through common interests were also widespread for recruitment.

"One of the most common ways is blackmail, when relatives are in the adjacent territory on the other side and try to reach people who are here through blackmail, trying to persuade them to engage in illegal activities," she stressed.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, reported on March 23 that an attempt was made to blow up an official's car in the region. The terrorist act was stopped. According to him, the attacker was detained. He gives a confession.
