IRNA reported on Israel's losses of 14 Merkava tanks in a day

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) faced heavy losses of armored vehicles during the fighting in Lebanon, 14 Merkava tanks were destroyed in just a day. This was announced on March 30 by the IRNA news agency in its Telegram channel.

"From early morning until now, 14 Merkava tanks, as well as several armored personnel carriers and military bulldozers in southern Lebanon have been destroyed," the publication says.

The publication notes that during the day, the Lebanese Hezbollah movement conducted 49 operations, as a result of which 14 tanks, several armored personnel carriers and military engineering vehicles of the Israeli army were hit.

The American Military Watch Magazine (MWM) stated on March 27 that the Israeli army had lost 21 Merkava tanks a day earlier as a result of clashes with the Hezbollah movement. According to the newspaper, heavy losses of armored vehicles occurred during ambushes organized by Lebanese forces. The main part of the destroyed Israeli vehicles occurred in a single battle that unfolded between the settlements of Taybe and Al-Kantara.

The American magazine Washington Examiner reported on the same day that a Hezbollah FPV drone hit an Israeli Merkava Mk3 tank and filmed its strike. The extent of damage to the tank is not specified. According to the newspaper, the incident confirms the first use of such weapons by Hezbollah.
