The Megafon operator has opened access to the fifth generation network for its subscribers. The company's customers can already connect the "5G mode" and evaluate the capabilities of the new technology. You can activate the service in your personal account or on the operator's website. It is available on modern smartphone models.

"Megafon's customers are already the first to test the latest generation of Internet. We are sure that this will be a completely new experience for them: now you can appreciate the even faster speed of downloading videos, files, maps, video broadcasts and games. And if, when using the 5G mode, the client encounters Internet unavailability, we will make sure that the money spent is returned to him," said Dmitry Rudskikh, commercial director of Megafon.

The first zones where the new generation of Internet is available are popular locations in cities with millions of residents - Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. In the capital, you can test 5G in the Hermitage Garden and in the surrounding areas within the Garden Ring. In St. Petersburg, the technology is available all along Nevsky Prospekt. In Novosibirsk, coverage covers the city center, including Lenin Square, Pervomaisky Square, Central Park, Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, and Akademgorodok. When in these areas, subscribers with activated "5G mode" will be able to connect to the fifth generation network if their device supports this feature.

Outside of these zones, the solution increases the Internet speed for each subscriber by up to 60% and provides a more stable connection. At the same time, users do not need to search for special network coverage areas.

The feature is aimed at the most active consumers of online content, for whom high data transfer speeds are important. The company is confident that they will be able to provide such a signal level.
