Peskov called Russia's duty to help Cuba
A Russian tanker with a shipment of petroleum products has arrived in Cuba to ensure the operation of the island's life support systems. This was announced on March 30 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Of course, Russia considers it its duty not to stand aside and provide necessary assistance to our Cuban friends. We are glad that this shipment of petroleum products will arrive on the island, or rather it has already arrived," he said.
Peskov also clarified that the issue of the vessel's passage had been discussed in advance with the American side. According to him, the supply of fuel is important for the Cuban economy under the current blockade. Petroleum products are necessary for the generation of electricity, the functioning of hospitals and the provision of social services to the population.
