The lawyer told about the planned raids to identify hogweed in the plots

Control over the presence of hogweed on land plots can be carried out at the request of citizens, as part of routine inspections, as well as using unmanned monitoring systems (UAS). Olesya Slezkina, a lawyer at the Moscow City Bar Association and a member of the Sinelshchikov and Partners Bar Association, told about this on March 30.

"The procedure for monitoring the implementation of standards for the destruction of hogweed, fixed at the federal level by Law No. 114-FZ of May 29, 2024, is strictly regulated and is based on the priority of prevention. Inspections can be initiated based on complaints from citizens, planned raids, or monitoring, which is often carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles and video recordings," TASS quoted her as saying.

According to the expert, during the inspections, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Rosreestr or municipal authorities inspect the territory, record violations and issue the results in the form of an act. Upon establishing the facts of non-compliance with the requirements on the part of the management organizations, the owner or user of the site is issued a mandatory order with a deadline for eliminating the violation.

It clarifies that ignoring such requirements entails significant fines while maintaining the opportunity to appeal the actions and decisions of the supervisory authorities in a lawful manner.

Slezkina reported on March 29 that Russians could be brought to administrative responsibility or even imprisoned for up to eight years for growing the so-called Salvia divinorum sage. The consequences for citizens are not for growing sage "in general", but for growing specific botanical species listed in the list of plants approved by the government of the Russian Federation.
