The heavy water production plant in Khondab, Iran, was seriously damaged and stopped working. This was announced on March 29 by the press service of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
"Based on an independent analysis of satellite images and information about the facility, the IAEA has confirmed that the Khondaba heavy water production plant, which Iran reported on March 27, was seriously damaged and is no longer functioning," a statement on the X social network said.
It is specified that the plant did not contain nuclear materials.
On March 28, Iran informed the IAEA about the attack on the uranium concentrate plant. The Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, stated the need to exercise military restraint in order to eliminate the risk of a nuclear incident.
Tasnim news agency, citing the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), reported on March 27 that the United States and Israel attacked a uranium concentrate production plant in Iran. Uranium concentrate (yellow cake) is an intermediate product in the process of processing uranium ore and is used for further enrichment.
