Stephen Gruzd, Head of the African Governance and Diplomacy Program at the South African Institute of International Relations (SAIIA), was abducted and killed in South Africa. This was announced on March 29 by the SAIIA press service.

"It is with deep sorrow that we inform you about the untimely death of Stephen Gruzd, head of the SAIIA program for African Governance and Diplomacy," reads the text, which was posted on the SAIIA Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
