On March 29, Lebanon says goodbye to three journalists who died as a result of a targeted attack by the Israeli military. The victims of the strike the day before were Fatima Ftouni, a reporter for the Al Mayadeen channel, her brother, a photojournalist, and Ali Hassan Shahaib, a military correspondent for the Al—Manar channel.

Thousands of residents, including many media workers, came to the square in Beirut at night. The flow of mourners has not stopped until now.

Ftuni has repeatedly filmed materials for Izvestia. She informed Anya that seven of her relatives had died during the conflict, and that she herself had been hit on March 28. Fatima, along with other journalists, was on her way to another editorial assignment, and a car was targeted on a highway near Beirut. The IDF claims that they were allegedly aiming at terrorists, but there was only a car of journalists with the inscription "Press" on the highway.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the attack a grave crime and said it would insist on the need to investigate the murder in order to bring all those responsible to justice.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun also condemned the murder and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and all representatives of the journalistic and media community. Roni Alpha, director of the Middle East information bureau of Al Mayadeen, also called the deceased journalist Fatima Ftouni, who collaborated with Izvestia, a heroine.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
