- Scientists of the IKI RAS reported a large release of plasma on the Sun
A large plasma release has begun on the Sun, which may affect the launch of the first manned lunar mission since 1972. This was announced on March 28 by scientists from the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"A large plasma release is developing on the Sun right now," the laboratory said in a message posted on the Telegram channel.
Experts noted that the ejection most likely will not reach the Earth, since the center of the cloud is shifted downwards and leaves at an angle of about 60 degrees from the direction of our planet. Nevertheless, solar activity remains the subject of close attention in the run-up to the manned flight to the moon.
On March 21, the Institute of Applied Geophysics reported that an increase in the degree of disturbance of the magnetic field was recorded on Earth. It was noted that the degree of disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field increased from the level of G1 to G2.
