Medvedev reminded Kallas of Estonia's past affiliation with Russia
On March 27, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev reminded the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, that historically, Donbass belonged to Russia, just like Estonia.
Earlier, Callas stated that she was concerned about the US pressure on Ukraine on the issue of the territories of Donbass. She claimed that Russia allegedly demands a region "that does not belong to it."
"Callas, her face is not marked by signs of intelligence <...> Donbass historically belonged to Russia and no one else. It's a pity that she's so stupid at 50. Actually, Estonia (oh, horror!) it was also a part of Russia," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The Ukrainska Pravda newspaper reported on March 24 that the United States authorities were putting pressure on Kiev and demanding the complete withdrawal of troops from Donbass, threatening to deprive Ukraine of its support. According to one of the members of the team of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, the Americans may withdraw from the negotiation process and completely switch to Iran if they do not come to an agreement with Ukraine on the "main issue."
On March 19, Kallas called on EU countries to actively seek ways to end the conflict in Ukraine in order to prevent its capitulation. She added that now is the time to strengthen Kiev's support, including by continuing to fulfill the loan agreed by the leaders in December.
