The FSB detained the deputy mayor of Sochi and two officials of the city hall

Three high—ranking officials of the city administration have been detained in Sochi, among them Vice Mayor Yevgeny Gorobets. This was reported to Izvestia on March 27 by law enforcement sources.

The officials were detained as part of a check on their involvement in illegal actions. In addition to Gorobets, Roman Ryabtsev, director of the Legal Department, and Aslan Achmizov, head of the Municipal Land Control Department, are among the detainees.

Also on March 13, a source from Izvestia reported the detention in St. Petersburg of 32-year-old municipal deputy Mikhail Smirnov. The official reason was not given by law enforcement officials.
