Ultra-processed foods, such as sugary drinks, snacks, and processed foods, can negatively affect health if consumed regularly. On March 30, Yulia Kashapova, a nutritionist, nutritionist, and author of the Slimness Code project, told Izvestia.

According to the expert, ultra-processed food is an industrial product with additives and components that are rarely used in home cooking. These include, in particular, sausages, chips, ready-made breakfasts and store-bought pastries.

"The problem is usually not in one ingredient, but in the very design of the product: it is made to be convenient, tasty, stored for a long time and at the same time eaten faster than regular food," said the nutritionist.

At the same time, the specialist stressed that not all processed food is harmful. For example, frozen vegetables, pasteurized milk, or natural yogurt are also processed, but this does not make them unsafe for health.

As Kashapova emphasized, the degree of processing and the regularity of consumption are of key importance. The higher the proportion of foods with excess sugar, salt and saturated fats in the diet, the higher the risks for the body, since such products can contribute to the development of obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, as well as affect the psycho-emotional state.

At the same time, it is not necessary to completely abandon finished products. The expert recommends reducing their share in the diet and giving preference to simpler versions.

"It is better to choose less processed versions of the usual food and reduce the proportion of foods that provide a lot of calories but are poorly saturated. This is exactly the case when healthy eating does not begin with strict prohibitions, but with a more sober choice in the supermarket," Kashapova concluded.

On March 27, endocrinologist and nutritionist Natalia Kovaleva explained how eating pineapple can affect weight. According to her, pineapple is known for its bromelain content, an enzyme that promotes the breakdown of proteins and improves digestion, but it does not directly affect the breakdown of fats and cannot be considered a magic remedy for weight loss.
