President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko may take part in the meeting of the Peace Council in 2026, provided that the format of the event is acceptable to the Belarusian side. This was announced on March 27 by the press secretary of the head of state Natalia Eismont.

"If there is a meeting this year and if it is acceptable to the Belarusian side, we will definitely attend this summit," she said, answering a question from TASS.

On March 20, Lukashenko said that he had received an invitation from US President Donald Trump to hold talks in Florida, at the US president's residence at Mar-a-Lago. Speaking about the negotiations with the Americans, the Belarusian leader stressed that it was about discussing a "big deal." However, Lukashenko said that he was unable to attend the first meeting of the Peace Council in the United States due to a sudden check of the combat readiness of the country's armed forces.
