Director Nikita Mikhalkov expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Cultural Council for actor Mikhail Yefremov's return to creative activity after his release from prison.
"It is thanks to you, Vladimir Vladimirovich, that Misha Efremov has found a new life on stage today," the director said.
Mikhalkov also appealed to the Russian leader with an invitation to visit a new production in which the actor is involved, she added.Газета.Ru ".
On February 13, Yefremov took to the stage for the first time after his release from prison. The actor played in the pre-premiere screening of the play "Without Witnesses" on the stage of the Workshop 12 theater. The first viewers of the production "for moms and dads" were relatives and friends of the artists, as well as representatives of the press.
On January 14, Izvestia reported on Yefremov's return to work in the theater after serving more than four years in a penal colony. The actor himself turned to the director of "Workshop 12" Mikhalkov with a request to take him to the play, in which he will play the main role. According to the production's artist, Yuri Cooper, Yefremov is capable of playing any role, and rehearsals with the troupe were conducted even by phone. Later it became known that the premiere screenings of the play with Yefremov could not gather full houses.
