- The date of the beginning of the fire season in the Tyumen region has been announced
In the Tyumen region, the fire season starts on April 6. This is stated in the draft resolution of the regional authorities.
The date depends on the snowfall. The Forest Department should strengthen supervision in forests and ensure that the fire does not spread further during the wildfire season.
According to the <url> news agency, the authorities have begun preparations in advance for possible emergencies. Special attention is paid to the rapid detection of fires and prompt response. The forest services will switch to an enhanced mode. Both ground and air patrols will be conducted, and the dispatch service will switch to a 24-hour operation mode.
Control over compliance with fire safety rules will be strengthened not only in forests, but also in settlements on the border territory. The police and rescuers will be involved in the work.
The agency notes that large-scale fires have occurred in the region more than once. So, in 2022, 214 forest fires and more than 1 thousand landscape fires were registered. The authorities have expanded the list of potentially dangerous territories. Now it has 860 settlements. 115 fire service posts have been prepared.
Earlier, on March 24, Evgeny Pisarevsky, head of the Federal Forestry Agency's forest fire protection department, said that the start of the fire season in Russia this year is expected in April, unlike last year, when it began in March. According to him, the first fires have already started in the Far East. Currently, there are four forest fires with an area of 65 hectares in Primorsky Krai and the Jewish Autonomous Region.
