Two-time Olympic volleyball champion Rosa Salikhova has died at the age of 82. This was announced on March 26 in the Telegram channel of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VFB).

"Rosa Galyamovna is a bright person of the kindest soul," the message says.

The WWF noted that the athlete always found words of support, warmth and faith. She was respected for her responsiveness and loyalty to people and her favorite game. The Federation also expressed its condolences to the athlete's family and friends.

Salikhova was a two-time Olympic champion (1968, 1972), as well as world, European, and World Cup champion. She has six championship titles in the USSR and seven wins in the European Champions Cup. In 2014, the athlete was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in the USA.
