Details of the attack

A ninth grade student came to school with a set of weapons: a plastic crossbow, a gas canister and a flare pistol. Inside the school, a teenager fired a shot at his classmate.

"He fired a signal pistol at a classmate, then jumped out of a recreation window on the fourth floor, sustaining injuries," the regional government's press service said.

The condition of the victims

Two ambulance crews promptly arrived at the scene. Both participants in the incident were taken to the Chelyabinsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital. The regional Ministry of Health clarified that as a result of falling from the height of the fourth floor, the attacker broke both legs.

The medical department stressed that the injured girl and the attacker himself are under the supervision of specialists. According to official data, currently their lives and health are not in danger, doctors are providing them with all the necessary assistance.

"Two NSR brigades were working at the site. The injured children were taken to the hospital and examined by specialists. They are currently under medical supervision, and their health is not in danger," the Ministry of Health of the region said.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has launched an investigation into the incident. Criminal cases have been opened into the incident under several articles, including attempted murder, negligence and the provision of services that do not meet security requirements.
